What this site is

Hantavirus Outbreak Tracker is an independent public-information tracker for the MV Hondius-linked Andes virus outbreak and related hantavirus explainers. It is built around visible source records, case-status labels, a changelog, timeline, methodology, and downloadable data exports.

What this site is not

It is not a government source, clinical database, medical advice service, real-time surveillance authority, or medically reviewed publication. No medical reviewer is claimed. Health-adjacent pages are compiled from official public-health sources and include source and correction links.

Editorial process

Updates are made by checking official public-health pages, preserving source dates, and recording source discrepancies where they affect the public record. Corrections that change visible data are handled through the corrections policy and reflected in the changelog.

Report a correction

See a count, label, source link, or timestamp that appears wrong? Send the page URL, record ID, official source URL, and what should change.

Primary sources reviewed

CDC, WHO, and ECDC official public-health pages were reviewed for this build. Current outbreak counts use official outbreak updates; evergreen pages use official background and guidance pages.
